Olen ollut huomaavinani, että monet nukkekotiharrastajat ovat myös innokkaita puutarhureita. Ja nyt se on tullut täydellä teholla se kevät ja piha kutsuu! Päivityksiä ei varmaankaan tule talven tahtiin, mutta ehkä jotain aina välillä sentään. Ihanaa kevättä kaikille ja onnellisia hetkiä luonnossa ja puutarhassa!

Yksi tapa tehdä omenapuu - One way to make an apple tree

Omenapuut (ja puut yleensä), ovat tärkeä osa puutarhaa. Ne luovat seinän ja katon, antavat suojaa ja mikä parasta: kukkivat ja tarjoavat herkkuja syksyn tullen.
Mietin pitkään omenapuun tekoa ja vihdoin otin itseäni niskasta kiinni. Pahin juttu oli lehtien määrä, mutta toki myös luonnollisen ulkonäön saavuttaminen asetti haasteita.
Tein oman puuni aivan väärässä järjestyksessä. Ihan hyvä siitä tuli, mutta helpommalla olisin päässyt, jos olisin tehnyt sen kuten nyt neuvon teitä muita!

The apple trees (and the trees in general) are a very important part of a garden: they create a wall and a ceiling, they protect and best of all: they bloom and carry fruit.
I gave my apple tree many thoughts before I started making it. So many leaves and a natural look was challenging.
I made my apple tree in a very wrong order, but I will tell you the smarter order now.

Käytin oksina mustikanvarpuja, joista leikelin turhat oksat pois. Sidoin varvut rautalangalla yhteen ja pienestä palasta vaneria tein jalustan käyttämällä naulaa apuna.
I used blue berry twigs and tied them together like this. To make the tree stand I made a stand with a piece of wood and a nail.

Omenat pyörittelin Fimosta ja lehdet leikkasin leikkurilla paperista. Alemmassa kuvassa on irrallinen mustikanvarpu, johon rupesin lehtiä kiinnittämään. ÄLÄ TEE NIIN!
Kun olet saanut rungon valmiiksi, sen ja oksat maalattua, kiinnitä oksiin omenat rautalangalla. Liimaa lehdet puuhun viimeiseksi.

The apples are made out of Fimo and the leaves are cut out of paper. In the picture there is this lonely blue berry twig, where I started to glue the leaves on. DON`T DO THAT! First finish the trunk and paint the tree all over. Tie the apples to the branches and then glue the leaves on.

12 000 kävijää vieraili viime viikonloppuna puutarhamessuilla. Nukkekotien puutarhat saivat paljon positiivista palautetta.

12000 people visited the Garden Show last weekend. The dollhouse gardens were very found of.

The other garden is made by an artist Marko Suomi. He lives in the country near Lahti and I think, his homegarden is quite a lot like this: he grows his food, he has chickens and sheeps and he loves flowers and gardening!

Kuinka aloittaa nukkekodin puutarhan teko - How to start a dollhouse garden

Nukkekodin puutarhan tekeminen kannattaa aloittaa ihan kuten oikeankin puutarhan tekeminen:

1. Päätä koko. Paljonko sinulla on tilaa säilyttää puutarhaa?
2. Mieti, mitä haluat nukkekotiväen voivan tehdä puutarhassa. Onko vain kukkapenkkejä ja oleskelualue? Tarvitaanko lapsille tilaa? Grillataanko? Olisiko kasvimaa tai pieni keittiöpuutarha kiva?
3. Jaa tila karkeasti eri toiminnoille ja luonnostele alueet alustalle.
4. Kun näet todellisen tilan, mieti kiinteät rakenteet. Haluatko aidan, muurin tai pensasaidan? Leikkimökin? Potagerin jne.
5. Suunnittele kulkureitit ym. tarkemmin ja yksiyiskohtaisemmin.

Anna mielikuvituksen ja haaveiden lentää! Nukkekodin puutarhassa sinua eivät rajoita ilmansuunnat, kasvuvyöhykkeet, eivätkä taloudelliset realiteetit.

Kuvissa näkyy oman puutarhani alkuvaiheita. Pahoittelen kuvien huonoa laatua: marraskuu ja pimein aika...

Making a dollhouse garden is good to start exactly like you would do with a real garden:

1. Size. How much space you have got to store the garden?
2. Think, what you want to have in the garden. Only flowers and table and cahairs? Are there children in the house? Barbeque? Kitchen garden?
3. Roughly share the space for different actions and elements and make drawings about the plan.
4. When you can figure out the real space, think about the steady structures like walls, fences etc.
5. Make more detailed plan: the paths etc...

"Small and big gardens at the Garden Fair

The gardens are still covered with snow, but in Lahti Garden Fair it´s already blooming this weekend. There are real plants but also evergreen dreamgardens, where the cauliflowers, apples and artichokes can be at their best at the same time and where is no worrie about the weeds. These gardens you can admire at the Garden Societys´s stand. They are the dollhouse gardens.

Minna Ruokokoski has used about 300 hours to make her garden.
-Now it´s so full of flowers, that there is no place for weeds. It has been a lot of fun making it, because you can create any kind of garden you wish, she says.

At the fair the Garden Society also has a real, living garden gnome and crochet bird nests. One of the main  themes is recycling in the garden.

At the fair there are many exhibitors, balcony exhibition and information given by the experts."

Oikeaa elämää - Real life

Joskus 1:1 elämä vie ajan mineilyltä. Olen tehnyt pintaremonttia kotona ja häärännyt kuin Duracell-pupu perjantaista lähtien. Vai oliko se torstaista? Tänään ajattelin laittaa päivityksen nukkekodin muuttokuormasta, mutta en jaksanut ottaa kuvia; makasin vain sohvalla. Sekin on joskus ihanaa.


Huomenna aamulla on Etelä-Suomen Sanomissa juttu Lahden puutarhamessuista ja siellä pitäisi olla vähän juttua ja kuvakin nukkekotini puutarhasta... 


Huomenna linkkiä, jos löytyy verkkolehdestä, kuva ainakin, kun joutuivat lehdessä tyytymään ihan itse ottamaani kuvaan...

Etuoven kranssi - The front door

Etuovi on kaunis, mutta hieman vaisu ja paljas. Se sai koristeekseen keväisen kranssin. Kranssin pyörittelin ihan ensimmäisinä töinäni rautalangasta yli vuosi sitten ja nyt kevään kunniaksi laitoin siihen myös koristeet.
