Kukkapylväs - Flower Pillar

Tämän tein "Mustaa Huonetta" varten. Joskus kuvat kertovat enemmän kuin tuhat sanaa, en siis pitkästytä teitä jorinoilla :)

This I made for the "Black Room". Sometimes the pictures tell more than thousand words, so I won´t bore you with blaa blaa :)

Shakkipöytä - Chesstable

Tänä aamuna olo olikin ihan mukavan virkeä, flunssa alkaa helpottaa! Jotain pientä teki mieli näperrellä. Jotain simppeliä ja nopeaa. Tein tuolien kaveriksi shakkipöydän ja pienen shakkilaudan nukkekotiin.

Jalat ovat valmiit sorvaukset, joita lyhensin hieman. Pöytä on balsaa ja shakkilauta on printti.

This morning I felt quite much better: the flu is giving up! I felt like making something small, simple and quick. I made a chesstable and a chessboard.

The pedestals are ready made ones, I only shortened them. The table itself is made out of balsa and the chessboard is a print.

Mummo - Granny

Alun alken ajattelin, että nukkekotini olisi sisustettu suomalaiseen 20-luvun tyyliin. Suunnitelma muuttui hyvin pian ja siitä on tulossa nykyaikainen talo, jossa on myös vanhoja kalusteita. Kuitenkin hyllylle on alkanut  kerääntyä tavaraa, jotka ansaitsisivat ihan oman interiöörinsä.

Päässäni on alkanut muhia idea room boxista, jossa asukkaana olisi jo edesmennyt Linda-mummoni. Linda-mummo eli hyvin vaatimatonta elämää yksinkertaisissa puitteissa. Teen boxista sellaisen, mutta höystettynä niillä pienillä "ylellisyyksillä", joita hän ei itselleen koskaan suonut.

Kaapin olen tehnyt itse, muut ovat ostotavaraa.

When I started my dollhouse, I thought it would be decorated in a finnish, old fashioned style. That plan has changed and it´s becoming a modern house with some old furniture. I have noticed, that I have been still collecting old fashioned things, that would need a very own interior.

There is an idea in my head: a room box in a twenties style, and the person who lives there is my grandmother Linda, who has passed away more than thirty years ago. she was a very modest person and lived a very simple life. I´ll make a box like that and add some small "luxury" that she never allowed herself.

The closet i have made by myself, the other things are bought.

Talonpoikaissohvan evoluutio - The evolution of a farmhouse style sofa

Järjestelin tuossa kuva-albumeita uuteen uskoon ja katselin samalla kuvia harrastukseni alkutaipaleelta, eli alkaen tammikuu 2011. Yksi ensimmäisiä kalusteitani oli talonpoikaissohva, jota rupesin näpräämään, kun en onneton osannut pelätä... Ajatus talon tyylistä ja sohvan paikasta on muuttunut parissa vuodessa jonkin verran. Alunperin se oli tarkoitus sijoittaa keittiön ruokapöydän ääreen, mutta nyt se on siis löytänyt paikkansa yläkerrasta löhöilypaikkana ja levitettävänä vierasvuoteena.

I was organizing my photoalbums and of course, took a look through them. One of my first self made furnitures was this traditional farmhouse style bedsofa in January 2011, which I started making, cause as a beginner I was fearless... The idea of the style of the house and the place of the sofa has changed a bit in almost two years. Originally I was going to use it in the kitchen, but it ended up in upstairs and is used for lounging and as a guest bed, which you can spread for two.

Yläkerran somistusta - Decorating upstairs

Tottakai yläkerran musiikkihuone näytti valjulta: eihän siellä ollut oikeastaan kuin mööpelit. Vinon katon takia sisustaminen on tietysti hieman haastavaa, mutta ajattelin että julisteet tuovat vähän ilmettä ja yksi huonekasvi on tietysti aina paikallaan. Herra on tainnut koota seinälle lempimuusikkonsa ja -yhtyeensä. Kuvat on printattu netistä.

Of course the upstairs musicroom looked a bit dull as there were only furniture. Inclined ceiling is cahellengiing when it comes to decorating, but I thought that some posters an a plant will give the room some character. I think the Mr. of the house has put his favorite musicians on the wall. The pictures are printed from the internet.

Rouvakin sai viherkasvin somistamaan työhuonettaan.
Also the Mrs. got a plant to sweeten her hobby room.

Vuolukivitakka - Soapstone Fireplace

Harley Davidson Room Box tarvitsi miehekkään takan. Halusin sen olevan massiivinen, amerikkalaistyylinen  ja tumma. Vähän hirttäkin voisi olla... Ja vuolukiveä tietysti!
Alku oli helppo, koska kotoa löytyi tarvikkeet ja jopa styrox-pala, jossa oli valmis kaareva reuna.

Harley Davidson Room Box needed a masculine fireplace. I wanted it to be massive, american style and dark. Some timber work could be nice too... And finnish soapstone of course!
Beginning was easy, because I could find everything needed from home, even a styrofoam piece with a ready bent edge.

Koska styrox-paloja on hankala liimata toisiinsa, liimasin ne kartongille.

Because the styrofoam pieces are difficult to stick together with glue, I put them on a cardboard.

Jotta saisin kiveen elävän, hohtavan värin, lisäsin hopeaa mustaan ja valkoiseen.

To get living, shimmering colour on stone, I mixed silver with black and white.

Lopputulos on aika muhkea :)

The result is quite voluminous :)

Sytyketikkuhylly - Bookshelf

Aika simppelisti syntyi yläkerran musiikkihuoneeseen levy- ja kirjahylly sytyketikuista. Musta on aina hyvä, mutta kuten oikeassakin elmässä, pöly ja roskat näkyvät helposti.

This shelf was very easy to make. It´s perfect for books, records and other stuff. Black is always nice, but as in a real life, all the dust can be seen very soon.

Levynkannet ovat ihan ensimmäiset netistä printatut jutut. Sitä en enää muista, miltä sivustolta ne löysin.

The album covers are the first prints I printed for the doll house.

Takka 1:144 - Fireplace 1:144

Nukkekodin nukkekotiin tuli takka. Se on aika mahtavam kokoinen, mutta tässä talossa ei ujostella!

Dollshouse´s dollshouse got a fireplace. It´s quite enormous, but in this house we are not shy!

Mustaa nahkaa - Black leather

Tarvitsin miehekkään, mustan nojatuolin. Varastossa on yksi, mutta sille on jo sijoituspaikka mielessä, enkä voinut sitä uhrata. Vähän pakkausmuovia ja keinonahkainen lompakko...

I needed a masculine, leather armchair. I have one, but it´s going somewhere else and don´t want to use it. So: some packing foam and an old vallet (leatherette)...

Vähintäänkin mielenkiintoinen projekti. Lopputulos ei aivan tyydytä, mutta koska tuoli tulee roomboxiin, se ei niin haittaa. Saaja tuskin ryhtyy arvostelemaan.

An interesting project. I´m not quite happy with the result, but because it´s going to be used in a room box,  it´s good enough. And the person, who is going to get it, won´t criticise - I hope...

Olisihan se pitänyt arvata, miksi työhuoneen saaminen valmiiksi oli niin tärkeää! Kesä alkaa olla lopuillaan, puutarhatyöt vähenemään päin... Sateiset, hämärät illat tekevät tuloaan. Mikä alkaa taas kiinnostaa?

Should have known, why it was so urgent to get the working room ready! Summer is quite in the end, not much gardening to do... Rainy, dark evenings are back again. What is interesting again?

No nukkekotiahan siellä on alettu värkätä! Ja ihan itse...

Well, it looks like somebody has started building a dollshouse!

Ylhäällä vintti, keskikerroksessa makuuhuone ja kylpyhuone, alakerrassa yhdistetty olohuone ja keittiö. Aika villit pintamateriaalit!

Quite on the top the attick, in the middle the bedroom and the bathroom, downstairs the kitchen and the livingroom. Quite wild materials!

Aurinko paistoi jo matalalla, kun viimeiset seinät olivat paikallaan. Mitähän seuraavaksi...

The sun was already going down, when the walls were all up. I wonder what´s next...

Työhuoneen kalustusta - Furnishing the working room

Ihan ensimmäiseksi: tervetuloa uudet lukijat ja kiitokset kaikille kommenteista, joita olette tänne jättäneet. Kesä on mennyt puutarhassa kasvihuonetta ja köynnöskäytävää suunnitellen ja rakennellen, mutta kummasti alkaa mini-innostus taas nostaa päätään hämärtyvien iltojen myötä.

First of all: welcome all the new readers and thank you for the comments you have left here during the summer. I have spent the summer in the garden planning and building a greenouse and "a honeysuckle tunnel". Since the evenings are getting dark again, interest in making miniatures is waking up...

Vielä ei tavaraa ole kovin paljoa, mutta tärkeimmät on: kunnollinen, tilava työpöytä, jossa on paljon laatikoita ja tietysti radio! Pöytä on tehty balsasta, sävytetty akryyliväreillä ja lakattu. Mitähän tässä työhuoneessa ruvetaan tekemään? Jotain rapinaa ja ähinää sieltä jo kuuluu...

There aren´t very much things yet, but the most important things are: the table and the radio! The table is made out of balsa wood. I wonder, what is the first thing, that comes out of this working room? I already hear some rustling...
